Nova BlaQ

 Chauncey Malone better known by his stage persona “Nova BlaQ” is a one-of-a-kind 21 year old comedian who was reared in Atlanta’s west-side. Most would say that Nova’s style is very eclectic. His stage show is an even blend of physical and witty comedy. He’s the type of comic who can give skewering satirical material on any of society’s hot button issues provoking us to think while laughing, while in the same performance deliver outrageous, nonsensical slapstick material that appeals to the inner simpleton in us all. “My dad always taught me about balance ya know? You can’t appreciate one extreme without the existence of the other. A great example of that is my musical taste, scroll through my iPod you’ll see just as many Tupac songs as you do Waka Flocka songs. Why? Because I have the ability to appreciate both types of rappers equally for completely different reasons.” Although Nova feels that he is a misunderstood individual, he seems to find his quantum of solace in the sea of laughter that he has created and surrounded himself with since the age of 13. Nova’s passion in life is performing his stand-up comedy, however, he has found within himself a natural talent at other things such as writing (for himself and others), hosting as an on-air personality, and he has even began carving a niche` for himself as a video editor and audio engineer. Not to mention moonlighting as a manger for hip-hop artists, and models. “To be honest most of the other stuff I do came out of necessity and a desire to stay independent, since being a comedian is kind of an automatic sense of I’m an independent artist type thing ya know. The management thing spawned out of my love for music and affinity for models [he says while smirking]. I’m also taking acting classes to so be surprised to see me in some indie films sometime soon.” Its only a matter of time before we start seeing this guy all over the place, let’s just hope the world is ready for his raw style.
